Red Run 9

On a barren, ice covered planet a thousand miles past the Terra Quadrant, a group of scientists are heading up the largest zero gravity mineral extraction in the history of space mining. It is here on Antarus 6, a frozen hell hole of rock and ice, that teams of miners and geologists have made their base camp at the bottom of a large impact crater. There beneath 2 miles of solid permafrost, the Zephyr-Onyx Mining Corporation is mining and refining Ph9K.- Trinium bQ6 - - Glacial Ore!  The strongest natural metal known to mankind, second only to the carbon based Triton X.  It is an operation 10 years in the making, and with well over a hundred men working 24/7, the company's second biggest challenge, finding suitable R&R for the crews, was a task more easily resolved:  Bonzai suicide ski runs down the crater walls! 

With 3 weeks left to meet the initial financial guarantee of 7 million tons, the operation is right on schedule - - that is until the ravaged, dismembered bodies start turning up on ski run 9!  Soon the entire operation and the safety of every human being is jeopardized  by the discovery of an indigenous, reptilian-like life form that has developed a taste for human flesh!  Soon it is a race against time as one by one, the human population of Antarus 6 starts to disappear. And with the nearest help 6 months away at a satellite salvage station, the remaining few crew members have to find a way to fight the elusive creature, or die an agonizing death in the lonely dark hell of space a million miles from earth!
