Kidnight
Peeb and her friends have finally made it through the most grueling, confusing, maddening, exciting year – also known as 7th grade. As their reward for having thus-far survived the journey through puberty, they’ve decided to do the only sensible thing a young teenager in Southern California can do, party the summer away in somebody’s swimming pool. But all too soon, their non-stop playing and pranking become somewhat routine, forcing them to look for new, bigger and better diversions. When Barrett suggests a hike to an abandoned and possibly haunted bomb shelter, the group’s sense of
adventure is piqued. Off they go on an amazing adventure that will forever change how they view themselves, each other and life itself.
“Kidnight” is a contemporary coming-of-age/adventure story in the vein of “Stand By Me.” Humorous, suspenseful and bittersweet, it is an entertaining journey back to a time in our lives when each new discovery was awesome and every day was filled with gut-wrenching emotional turmoil, annoying siblings and Mountain Dew. Though the characters have just barely reached adolescence, their take on life, love and lasting friendships will resonate with movie-goers of all ages.
